Discretion before volume
The work is calibrated around trust, confidentiality, and senior judgment before outreach begins.
The firm
Why we exist
Most leadership appointments do not fail at the interview. They fail at the brief.
A board decides it needs a new leader, writes a specification that could belong to any company in any sector, and then spends six months evaluating candidates against criteria nobody ever agreed on. The appointment that follows is not wrong so much as unexamined — and the cost lands two years later.
Talentstra was built to do the front half of that work properly. We spend disproportionate time on calibration: what business moment is this role actually answering, what evidence would satisfy the board, and what tradeoffs is the organisation genuinely willing to accept. Everything downstream gets easier once those are written down.
The same discipline runs through the advisory work. People analytics engagements through PeoplePilot start with the decisions leaders need to make, not the data that happens to be available. Talent systems are designed to survive a busy quarter. Assessment separates readiness from tenure, which is uncomfortable and is the point.
Principles
The work is calibrated around trust, confidentiality, and senior judgment before outreach begins.
Talentstra reads the business moment, cultural context, and leadership evidence behind every mandate.
Premium experience only matters when it is backed by clear process, transparent tradeoffs, and outcome discipline.
Data improves judgment, but senior relationships and careful interpretation carry the work.

Operating model
Each mandate starts with a leadership question and ends with a decision system: calibrated criteria, evidence notes, shortlist tradeoffs, a communication cadence, and a clear next step.
We take a small number of engagements at a time. That is a deliberate constraint — it is what allows the senior advisor in the first conversation to still be on the mandate at the hundredth day.
How we are built
Our commitments
Mandates are not sold by one team and delivered by another. The senior advisor in the first conversation stays on the engagement to the end.
Some leadership problems are not solved by a new leader. If the diagnosis points at structure, mandate, or sponsorship instead, we will say so before taking the fee.
Client intentions and candidate positions are protected with the same seriousness. Neither is used as currency in another conversation.
Candidates arrive with a written case for and against. A shortlist without tradeoffs is a list, not advice.

Next step
Every engagement starts with a confidential conversation about the business moment behind the role — no pitch deck, no obligation.
